Landmark Ruling of Calcutta Court against Internet Shutdown

Earlier this year, the Indian judiciary issued a landmark stay order against an internet shutdown that affected the lives of 24.3 million people for eight days. The decision came after a strategic litigation led by a UNESCO’s Global Media Defence Fund’s partner, the Delhi-based Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF).
