Mauritania
On 13 August, Internet services were again disrupted in Mauritania from 8:00-12:00 UTC. This follows two disruptions the day before all of which are coinciding with baccalaureate exams happening this week in the country.
These recent shutdowns comes less than a month after Internet services were restored after a 23 day national Internet shutdown following post-election protests.
No cause documentation has been published.
Cloudflare Radar shows Mauritania’s Internet traffic volumes dropped again on 13 August between 8:00-12:00 UTC. This follows two Internet disruption events from the day before.

Like the day before, Chingutel and Mattel experienced complete network outages while the country’s largest ISP, Mauritel, experienced a 50% drop in traffic.

Google Transparency Report also shows traffic to Google web search services returning to levels before the shutdown event.

Three apparent #Internet shutdowns took place in #Mauritania on August 12 & 13, likely intended to prevent cheating on baccalaureate exams.
