Less than half of the Iraqi population have access to the Internet and online freedoms are curtailed to some extent according to Freedom House. Internet Resilience is low, well below the average for Asia, and the diversity of transit and retail Internet service providers is relatively poor. IPv6 adoption is non-existent and the Top Level Domain, .iq, is not secured. On a more positive note, adoption measures of naming and routing security validation are relatively high and Iraq is in the Top 5 for use of DNSSEC validation in Asia.
