Sopore area of Baramulla district, Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir

A shutdown is being observed in Sopore area of Baramulla district against the killing of a local militant in Amshipora-Ramnagri village of Shopian on Friday early morning. Reports said that soon after the news of the killing of rumoured militant identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Sofi, a resident of Model Town Sopore spread, all the shops, educational institutes and other business establishments remained shut in the town. However, authorities are yet to identify the slain militant. Following the episode, internet services were also suspended in the area for precautionary measures.
