Clashes broke out between protesters and armed forces near the gunfight site in Shopian in which twenty civilian have been injured. Doctors at Shopian hospital said that total 20 persons with pellet injuries were brought to hospital. Of them, four were referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment. Clashes erupted after the killing of two militants in a gunfight in the district. According to reports, youth took to streets and pelted forces with stones to protest the militant killings. Two militants, identified as Shahjahan Mir of Amshipora and Abid Hussain Wagay of Rawalpora in Shopian, were killed in a brief shootout with the forces. Internet was suspended in the district soon after the gunfight broke out.
