Tipura authorities ordered mobile Internet services to be suspended across the Kamalpur subdivision amid local unrest.

District Magistrate of Dhalai, Vivek HB, was quoted by local news that prohibitory orders under Section 163 had been imposed across Kamalpur subdivision on the evening of Thursday, 23 October. This included suspending mobile Internet services for 24 hours to curb the spread of rumours and prevent mobilisation through social media.
