Regional shutdown
Rajasthan
Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district administration has ordered the suspension of mobile Internet services ahead of a farmers' protest scheduled for 10 December.
Local impact
PRO Rajpal Lamboria was quoted as saying the administration had issued the orders as a precautionary measure to prevent any rumours.
Section 163 has been in force in the Tibbi area since 18 November to maintain law and order, and a ban on unauthorised gatherings and processions has been imposed.
Farmers said that due to the Internet shutdown, they are unable to contact their associates outside the area.
No details are available as to what Internet services were suspended.
