Ladakh
The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs ordered mobile Internet services and public WiFi to be suspended in the Leh district of Ladakh as a precautionary measure during local protests following the arrest of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk.
Local impact
The Internet suspension covered all mobile networks from 2G to 5G and was effective from Monday, 29 September, 18:00 until Friday, 3 October, 18:00.
This follows unconfirmed reports that Internet services were suspended from Thursday, 25 September, when a curfew was first imposed.
There are also unconfirmed reports from 8 October that mobile Internet services had not resumed.
