Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir
A militant and an alleged Over Ground Worker (OGW) were killed by Quick Reaction Team (QRT) of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) in south Kashmir district of Shopian in the wee hours, official sources said on Monday. Meanwhile, mobile internet service in Kulgam was suspended as a precautionary measure to prevent rumours.

A militant was reportedly killed and a soldier was injured in an encounter which ensued during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir district of Shopian on Friday, official sources said. Meanwhile, authorities suspended mobile internet service as a precautionary measure. Clashes also erupted in the area between demonstrators and security forces.

Awantipora area of Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir
Five militants were killed and two policemen injured on Friday in three gunfights in Jammu and Kashmir. Police sources said security forces carried out an operation in Midoora village of Tral area of Pulwama district where militants hiding in a house opened fire. "Two militants were killed in this encounter. Their identity and group affiliation is being ascertained," a police officer said. Reports said the house in which the militants were hiding was destroyed. Internet services was suspended in Awantipora area of Pulwama district as a precaution. Earlier, three militants were killed and two policemen injured in two gunfights in Shopian and Kishtwar districts.

Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir
Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were gunned down on Thursday in an encounter with security forces in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter broke out in Dangarpora village of North Kashmir's Sopore. Troops from the Rashtriya Rifles, the Special Operations Group of the police and the Central Reserve Police Force launched the operation in the early hours after getting information about the presence of militants in the area. As a precaution, authorities have suspended mobile internet services and closed all educational institutions in Sopore.

A gunfight broke out between the militants and the security forces at a village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district shortly after dawn on Wednesday. According to local news gathering agency GNS, the gunfight broke out in Tazipora Mohammadpora village after the forces launched a search operation in the area following a tip-off about the presence of militants there. Mobile Internet was snapped in Kulgam as precautionary measure soon after the firefight began, it quoted an official as having said.
