[Training] Internet data analysis with the Internet Yellow Pages
The Internet Yellow Pages integrates more than 50 measurement datasets to help users analyze Internet topologies.
Details
The Internet Yellow Pages (IYP) is a knowledge database that gathers information about Internet resources (for example, ASNs, IP prefixes, and domain names) and is easily queryable.
Having all these datasets in one place is convenient for conducting large-scale studies on the scale of best current practices, such as routing security.
The objectives of the workshop will be to:
- Introduce participants to the IYP: its structure, data sources, and use cases in Internet topology and routing resilience studies
- Demonstrate querying and interpreting IYP: domains, IPs, prefixes, ASNs, tags (e.g. RPKI, Anycast, speedtest).
- Guide attendees through real‐world data analysis examples using IYP, including reproducible queries and visuals.
- Support hands‑on learning: participants run IYP queries on example datasets, analyze the results, and visualize the insights.
- Discuss how IYP can integrate with broader platforms (such as Pulse) or local infrastructure for monitoring and research.
Note: This training is only available in-person.
