Data and media reports indicate that mobile Internet has been shutdown in Mozambique in the midst of protests after the results of the presidential election were announced. Fixed Internet continues to be available.

Data from Cloudflare Radar, IODA, and Google’s Transparency Report show drops in mobile connectivity across Mozambique.
Cloudflare Radar shows the overall connectivity for Mozambique dropping starting around 09:45 UTC:
Wired / fixed networks continue to provide Internet access, but mobile networks have shut down access. This can be seen in the charts for three mobile providers: Vodacom Mozambique, Telecomunicacoes de Mocambique, and Viettel Group.
This chart from IODA shows the decrease in Google Search results (the purple line) and also a drop in connections (orange line):
There is an apparent internet shutdown in Mozambique, following violent protest. All 3 mobile phone companies have cut or reduced their mobile data services on Friday afternoon. We are unable to verify if this is just a coincidence, or a a deliberate move by the authorities. In…
