Orders for mobile Internet and VPNs to be suspended in Manipur, India, were reissued three days after they were lifted following a 142-day Internet shutdown. The new orders were first issued for a period of five days following the news of the deaths of two children, which resulted in violence. The orders have been extended several times. [Update] On 3 December 2023, the Manipur State Government removed the Internet shutdown in most parts of the state, citing improved law and order. According to a report, specific conflict areas remain under continued restrictions until 18 December. Mobile towers catering to services within a 2-kilometer radius along adjoining areas between districts, including Chandel and Kakching, Churachandpur and Bishnupur, Churachandpur and Kakching, Kangpokpi and Imphal West, Kangpokpi and Imphal East, Kangpokpi and Thoubal, as well as Tengnoupal and Kakching, will still face suspended operations.

Mobile Internet services were suspended in Nuh in the Haryana district on 15 September 2023 for four days after local authorities imposed a curfew under Section 144 following communal violence and to stop the spread of misinformation and rumours following the arrest of Congress MLA Mamman Khan. Internet services were suspended in Pusesawali village in Maharashtra's Satara district for four days after local authorities imposed a curfew under Section 144 following communal violence in the village on 9 September 2023. On 27 August, Haryana authorities ordered mobile Internet and SMS services to be suspended in Nuh district for 48 hours as a precaution against public unrest during a planned political rally.

Authorities ordered for the Internet to be suspended in the Bagaha sub-division of West Champaran district following public unrest.  

Authorities ordered for mobile Internet services to be briefly suspended in the division of Punch, Jammu and Kashmir.

On 1 August, local authorities ordered Internet Service Providers to suspend mobile Internet services in areas of Bharatpur and  Alwar districts in Rajasthan for 24 hours. This was later extended until the morning of 3 August. Both Alwar and Bharatpur share a border with Nuh district in Haryana where communal violence erupted on 31 July and also resulted in Internet shutdowns.  

Local authorities ordered mobile Internet and SMS (with the exception of banking and mobile recharge) services to be suspended in the Palwal and Gurugram districts following public unrest in the neighboring Nuh district. According to reports, the original suspension was extended until 5 August after a three-hour relaxation on 3 August. Local authorities ordered mobile Internet and SMS (except banking and mobile recharge) services to be suspended in the Faridabad district following public unrest in the neighboring Nuh district. The original two-day suspension order was extended twice until 7 August, with a three-hour reprieve. Les coupures d'Internet pendant les manifestations ou les troubles civils ont un impact sur la capacité des citoyens à obtenir des informations précises de la part des sources gouvernementales au moment où ils en ont le plus besoin. Il devient également plus difficile pour les citoyens de contacter les membres de leur famille et leurs amis dans d'autres régions du pays ou dans d'autres pays.
