Les autorités de Nuh ont ordonné la suspension des services Internet et SMS pendant 24 heures à partir de 18 heures, heure locale, le 21 juillet. Ces ordres ont été émis par le secrétaire général adjoint Anurag Rastogi afin d'éviter toute perturbation de la paix et de l'ordre public dans le district de Nuh, dans le cadre de la prosession Brajmandal Jalabhishek Shobha Yatra qui se déroulera le lundi 22 juillet. Selon un rapport, le commissaire adjoint de Nuh, Dhirendra Khadgata, a déclaré que les exemptions ont été accordées pour les SMS personnels, les recharges de téléphones portables, les SMS bancaires, les appels vocaux, l'Internet à large bande pour les entreprises et les particuliers, et l'Internet par ligne louée.

There are reports that mobile Internet services have been suspended for 24 hours in Dhalai, Tripura. According to one report, Tripura home secretary PK Chakraborty released a notification under the provision of Section 52 of the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, to "prohibit SMS messages of all mobile service providers, mobile internet or data service of all mobile service providers from midnight of 12/07/2024 to till the next day of 13/07/2024 of 12.00 PM (midnight) throughout the Dhalai District." The notification was given to quell community tension following the death of a young boy.

On Tuesday, 13 February, local authorities in the West Bengal region extended ongoing orders to suspend Internet services in Sandeshkhali to the neighboring Basirhat district. According to reports, the orders were enforced under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) from 6:00 to 18:00 local time to 'maintain law and order.' These new orders follow on from Monday's extension to shutdown the Internet in neighboring Hingalganj. Internet services in Sandeshkhali have been suspended since 10 February 2024 as part of Section 144 orders to quell violence following two days of protests revolting against local leaders. The same day (13 February), a single-judge bench of the Calcutta High Court reportedly quashed the orders imposing restrictions under Section 144, saying such prohibitory orders should only be put in place in areas identified as “troubled zone”. Internet shutdowns during protests or civil unrest impact the citizens' ability to get accurate information from government sources when they need it most. It also becomes harder for citizens to contact family members and friends in other parts of the country or other countries.
