Annonce des boursiers de recherche Pulse 2024
L'Internet Society a le plaisir d'annoncer la cohorte 2024 des Pulse Research Fellows - Jan Marius Evang, Yasir Haq, James Madeley, et Mike Vandersanden.
Au cours des huit prochains mois, Jan Marius, Yasir, James et Mike travailleront avec l'équipe de recherche Pulse de l'Internet Society pour développer les projets de recherche qu'ils ont proposés. La bourse permet aux individus d'apporter de nouvelles perspectives, des idées innovantes et une expérience de la recherche au projet Pulse afin d'améliorer notre compréhension et notre analyse de la santé et de l'évolution de l'Internet.
| Enhancing National Internet Resilience: Balancing Openness and SecurityJan Marius EvangThe project will conduct a multifaceted analysis of Internet openness, delving into various perspectives through focused research efforts on significant themes. These themes include the challenge of balancing security with openness and resilience and the potential impact of increased control on digital liberties. Moreover, the project scrutinizes the transition from reliance on global cloud services to national autonomy while evaluating the regulatory landscape influencing Internet openness and resilience. #Internet Resilience |
| Measuring the Resilience of the DNS EcosystemYasir HaqThe project will explore the security and resilience of the DNS ecosystem. It will measure and illustrate the adoption of security and resilience techniques among websites under ccTLDs and large gTLDs, including DNSSEC, DoS protection services, Anycast, and nameserver redundancy. #Internet Resilience |
| LocalViz: Measuring and Visualizing Internet Traffic LocalityJames MadeleyThe project will test a novel methodology for determining traffic locality, comparing previous measurement tools, and creating visualizations for a clear presentation of the results. | Digital Vigilance: Identifying Network InterferenceMike VandersandenThe project contributes to identifying network interference by developing a holistic system. It aims to help automate the analysis of data sources by cross-correlating the results of diverse interference detection methods and supplying comprehensive insights that assist analysis processes. #Internet Shutdowns |
Merci à tous ceux qui ont posé leur candidature. Nous avons reçu 157 candidatures de 49 pays, parmi lesquelles 14 ont été sélectionnées pour fournir une proposition de projet détaillée. Tous les projets présélectionnés étaient de très grande qualité et pertinents pour les quatre axes de Pulse qui cherchent à mesurer et à donner un sens aux fermetures de l'internet, aux technologies habilitantes de l'internet, à la résilience de l'internet et à la concentration du marché.
