Mobile Internet was reportedly restricted in the capital Minsk as some 100,000 protesters gathered in the city ahead of a face-to-face meeting between President Alexander Lukashenko and his main ally, Russian President Vladimir Putin. Demonstrations have been ongoing since the country held its national elections last month, with protesters calling for President Lukashenko, who has led Belarus since 1994, to resign amidst allegations of vote-rigging.
