The Minister of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), Mr. Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, reportedly sent tweets following the suspected shutdown, explaining that Iran had lost bandwidth because of international disruptions between Frankfurt and Bulgaria.

Article 19's Internet researcher, Mahsa Alimardani, responded, “At the time of writing, no evidence exists to support the claim that international connections were the reason behind the disruption. The government has not produced an official incident report.”
