The front page of Pulse has been updated, reflecting the final stage of a large project to migrate to a new front and back end, and the first steps toward a new design and structure for Pulse. The most visible improvements are to the layout and content, but the big news is what’s behind the scenes.

Improvements

Easier to see the why, and to understand what’s inside

Thanks to feedback from our community, the homepage finally has an upgrade. The Pulse homepage now signals what Pulse offers, and where we’re headed. We’ve made it easier to get straight into the data from the front page, without having to find your way through the top navigation bar (we'll be working on that soon).

Finished migrating to a new platform

What’s really different is what you can’t see—we’ve finally done the last steps to move off of our old WordPress site, and onto a Django back end and Wagtail front end. Even if that doesn’t mean much to you right now, the improvements you’ll start to see over the rest of the year are largely thanks to that. We can now do so much more with Pulse, and with the data housed in it, and so can you.
