[Webinar] How do we Investigate Internet Outages in the Arab World? [Arabic]
How can journalists expand their skills and technical knowledge to uncover Internet shutdowns, related policies, and other motivating factors?
Details
The risk of Internet shutdowns is increasing in many Arab countries, especially during elections and public exams. Since 2018, Internet Society Pulse has tracked approximately 240 Internet shutdowns in Arab countries, five of which sit among the top 10 countries with the most Internet shutdowns in this time.
During this seminar, journalists will:
- Review case studies of deliberate Internet outages.
- Deepen their understanding of Internet outages and their related definitions.
- Learn how to track deliberate Internet outages, including what metrics to monitor.
