Internet Society Pulse team seeks someone to conduct a short-term research project exploring the potential use cases of the RPKI Signed Checklist (RSC) — RFC 9323, an emerging IETF standard.
This project offers a unique chance to study Internet routing security and help shape the future of trust online.
The selected researcher will comprehensively survey the potential use cases for the RPKI Signed Checklist (RSC), including:
- Documenting various possible applications for the RSC standard.
- Evaluating the impact of these use cases on improving security and trust in Internet routing.
- Identifying gaps or vulnerabilities in the current security framework that may impact RSC adoption and proposing recommendations for improvement.
- Analyzing existing RSC implementations to assess their operational effectiveness and contributing to experimental or Best Current Practice documents.
The project will culminate in a detailed report that outlines security improvements, highlights potential limitations, and offers actionable recommendations for addressing challenges within the current Internet security landscape.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a researcher passionate about Internet routing security to make a tangible impact. If you are interested in RPKI and want to contribute to advancing trust and security in global Internet infrastructure, we’d love to hear from you!
