Internet Society Pulse is hosting a networking and discussion event at the upcoming African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) 2025 on the morning of 21 August 2025 at the Lagos Continental Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria.
The invite-only event will draw together those in the civil society, media, research, and technology sectors who are advocating for greater Internet resilience in Nigeria and West Africa. Attendees will review and compare data on Nigeria’s current Internet resilience to its West African neighbors, discuss its strengths and weaknesses, and propose collaborative measures to draw attention to areas that need improving. Topics that we’ll focus on include:
- The need for greater market diversity
- The benefits of peering and localized content
- The impact of Internet censorship and shutdowns
- Supporting independent, local measurement research and insights to provide context and validate current data.
This free event will be open to 30 people, so we encourage you to register your interest quickly. You’re also welcome to share this invitation with interested colleagues and partners, including:
