For the second time in less than a week, authorities in Myanmar ordered an Internet shutdown, this time Internet gateways were ordered to shutdown.

On 31st of January 2021, people in Myanmar faced access disruptions that lasted for 11 hours, as detailed here. During the week, access to social networking sites, particularly Facebook, was limited following governmental orders, as detailed here. The latest disruption was more pervasive as seen in the data below.

Some mobile operators made same-network local calls and SMS free of charge over the weekend.
